Dedicated to the Bombardier / Can Am DS650
Way back in 2000 when Bombardier introduced the DS650 it was the largest (in size, weight and engine!) sports quad to hit the market. The closest competition at the time was the Honda TRX400EX and the Yamaha Banshee. Due the it's size and weight the DS650 acquired the nickname “Sand Pig”. Deserved or not it seems to have stuck.
I bought my DS650 in 2005 having never ridden one. The fastest quad I had ridden to that point was a Warrior. It was the best blind purchase I have ever made. At that time there were active sites, forums, and boards for the DS650 and it was easy to find most anything there was to know about it. Flash forward to 2011 and the landscape has changed dramatically. Many of the old timers have moved on, dropped out of site or lost interest.
The goal of this site is to provide a permanent home for all things DS650. Many people have contributed to the information I have gathered here, I do not claim to have authored all the documents, tools, and how to’s brought together here. To be honest most of it I copied over the years as I found something interesting to me and worth keeping on hand in case it disappeared into cyber space like so many things have. I have given credit where I can find it, if you can fill in some of the gaps please let me know so due credit if given. If you are the author of anything I have posted and wish it taken down I will respect that wish but ask you to consider the benefit having it readily available to those of us still riding and maintaining our beloved “Sand Pig”. If you have anything that you believe that the rest of us DS owners will find useful and want to share it please let me know.
Since this is a site for all things DS650, no bashing or escalation of a disagreement beyond simply disagreeing will be tolerated. We want all that come to this site to feel welcome!
